I found it amazing. Quite likely because I personally really like Mae's character and their sweet relationship. The ideas expressed through this felt genuine and everything about the turn of events felt something I could empathize and understand. In that regard, the events are quite practically possible in the real world and we get to see how they deal with some conflicts. Would love to watch more shows like this.
I rarely ever write comments/reviews, but this show was just... God, I cannot even put it into words. It had been such a long time since I last sat down and watched a whole show in one sitting, avoiding to pause even to get food, watched without multitasking... But this show, well, it truly captivated my attention, it held it for the whole time. I do not want to give anything away, however, the writing is impeccable. It is funny at times, but insanely heart-wrenching at others. So much of it felt incredibly realistic, and not only did I truly care for the characters, but I also could see parts of me reflected in them. I truly TRULY hope it gets renewed for a second season because I desperately want to know what will happen next. I want to see more of the characters' journeys.
Thoroughly enjoyed this series. First time seeing Mae Martin, love her in this! Story is very interesting and covers many issues a couple might come across in terms of clashing/quite differing personalities.
Could someone from trakt fix that obvious, wrong thumbnail of Charlotte Ritchie? The image is of the middle-aged singer, not the actress.
Wow. I really don’t know what to say. Well let’s start with the fact that this was the worst series I have watched this year. Apparently it’s a comedy as the main character is a stand-up comedian and CONSTANTLY joking. Most of the times it was okay. But it started to get annoying when even the more serious scenes had a lot of joking around. Overall I didn’t like at all how the serious topics were handled. Maybe I’m just too serious but I want to see at least a bit of hard emotions when the subject matter requires them. The acting felt forced and the cutting of the scenes didn’t give much help as it was very quick and pointy if you know what I mean. Everything was happening way too fast. The reveals and hints were obvious and dropped on your face as heavily as an elephant. The interactions between the characters lacked chemistry and felt awkward most of the time. I felt very frustrated with the characters and their decisions and actions. Some of them were so absurd that I found myself thinking that people in real life wouldn’t act that way. One thing I found good was the representation this series gives to minorities. I learned more about what everyday life feels like when you’re transgender. And I have to say it started to get better towards the end of the season. It still wasn’t good though...
A genuine revelation - Mae Martin is an absolute star. Entirely personal, brilliant comedy that is far too easy to get through in one sitting. Savour this, you'll miss it once it's done.
I think i enjoyed the first season a little bit more, but I loved seeing all the growth of Mae and George that happened in season 2.
While we celebrated the Pride month just now, why not talk about some awesome TV shows focused on LGBT characters. What if you want to learn about the people at large but you realize that there is no diversity in your close social circles. That’s when a good TV series can enlighten you with the ideas and realities. It can also save you from awkward moments in the real life by providing the right insights.
After a hot day outside, there’s nothing better than getting inside and cooling down, all while watching something on the tv. Luckily for all of us, there is plenty to chose from and more and more series are coming our way. So turn on your AC, get yourself a cold glass of your favorite drink, sit back and enjoy.
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
