Rake

Rake

ABC 2010

On any single day, Cleaver Greene is described as many things. Whilst his ex-wife may call him 'unreliable', his son will call him 'a mate'. To his learned friends at the bar table he is 'a real wag', to his jurors he is 'hilarious', and to most judges he is 'an outrage'. To the Tax Office, he is 'a defendant', to a certain brothel owner 'a legend', and to his former cocaine dealer 'a tragic loss'.

The version that should've aired in the states, there was no reason to attempt a remake -- it paled in comparison (and was quickly cancelled). This, the original, is excellent.

The show is amazing and best for wasting time or playing on the background while doing your whatever, although it starts slow, but when you get into the characters it gets really interesting, and you will get some unexpected laugh out moments. Moreover, I think season 5 is rushed and that ending “are you kidding me, whaattttt” beside there is no closure at all, and what happen to the Parney or whatever his name, is he cured and what bout the kids, spoiler “dispersed since season 04”, and the other characters. Lastly, enjoy the show season 1-4, and as recommended by a fellow reviewer, skip season 05 at all costs. Note: This is my first review on here and ever I think, I didn’t think I will write a review ever but here we are. My rate strong 3.5 and light 4 stars

Season 5 is horror! Dont watch it. Amazing show.

Brilliant show, Roxburgh's comedic character, writing and performance make this show, without a doubt, uniquely Australian. Worth watching no matter where your from... just don't watch the American attempt at remaking this, or watch the 5th season, they both feel forced and like pale imitations.

The American version of this show, with Greg Kener, was good, too bad it only lasted a season or so. I will have to check this Aussie version out

    About Me

I am Sophie and this is my website.

A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.

But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈

I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…

I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.

Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
