La historia gira en torno en Carla Rangel (Ela Velden), una joven periodista que convence a Rubí (Camila Sodi), una misteriosa mujer que vive en una mansión oscura, para contar la historia de su vida y por qué se aisló del mundo exterior. Es allí donde se descubre que Rubí era una mujer ambiciosa de origen humilde, decidida a usar su impresionante belleza y trucos femeninos para escapar de la pobreza, independientemente de si perjudicaba a personas inocentes para lograrlo.
