Mike Henry (Michael J Fox) is a multi Emmy award winning news anchor who after 20 years bowed out due to the onset of Parkinson's. He has spent the last five years directing his undivided attention towards his family, and he's been driving them nuts. An opportunity arises for him to return to work and his family are all for it. The city loves him and even after five years he's stopped on the street for photos and handshakes. The path to his return is greased by his family and friends and he slides back in as if he'd never left. It could be easy to see this as a forced vehicle to allow Michael J Fox to get back onto TV but that would be so short-sighted as to be a crime. The series is co-created by Will Gluck, director of Easy A and the upcoming Annie remake, who also directs the pilot episode. Obviously developed for, and with Michael J Fox the series and jokes don't just focus on his Parkinson's but the ones that do aren't cheap and are genuinely funny; they are honest and the years MJF has been vocal and in the spotlight regarding Parkinson's lets us comfortably in. The pilot is tight, exposition is skilfully peppered and the characters realised enough that you get a feel for all of them and the cohesion of the family unit. Wendell Pierce (Treme, The Wire) plays Mike's boss and is so solid he's wonderful to watch playing off MJF. Michael J Fox is fantastic and thanks to advancements in Parkinson's drugs over the last 5 or so years it has not stopped him. His comic timing is as taut as it always was and the magic in his eyes, where so much of his performance lay, still sparkles. The show is called the Michael J Fox show for a reason. Michael J Fox is back and TV has been less without him.
The only thing good about this show is Michael J. Fox. The rest of the cast is boring and forgettable. It feels forced and awkward. Hard to watch.
This show it's a little of everything that fails to excel in anything. Beside Michael J Fox himself, the rest is just predictable and forgettable.
Its great to see Michael J. Fox back in action! The guy had such an promising acting career after the three Back To The Future movies, but instead his life and career got turned upside down after he found that he has Parkinson's disease. @MajorMercyFlush said pretty much everything that can be said at this point so early into this tv show's season. I have to add though, the fact is that the disease Michael J. Fox has is kind of "in your face" during every episode and is definitely different from other tv shows, for a big part because its not acted. But i do hope they don't overplay that card too much, by making it the focus of the entire show. But from what i have seen so far that is not the case. I hope that this show will be able to bring something new and refreshing to the screen. But thats entirely up to the script writers, because the acting cast alongside Michael is good from what i saw so far and from those who i recognize from other tv shows.
If the show is as funny as the trailer I'm in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXl-krlLoxg "Can you not have a personal victory right now. We are starving" - hilarious, and the expression on his face is classic MJF. MJF you have been missed.
Isn’t it great when your favorite TV show has characters from all over the world? A lovely Spanish or a funny Indian accent can always make a show interesting but cultural presentation is what brings awe to the viewers life. I am presenting you with the three best TV shows that will add colors to your to-watch list!
While we celebrated the Pride month just now, why not talk about some awesome TV shows focused on LGBT characters. What if you want to learn about the people at large but you realize that there is no diversity in your close social circles. That’s when a good TV series can enlighten you with the ideas and realities. It can also save you from awkward moments in the real life by providing the right insights.
After a hot day outside, there’s nothing better than getting inside and cooling down, all while watching something on the tv. Luckily for all of us, there is plenty to chose from and more and more series are coming our way. So turn on your AC, get yourself a cold glass of your favorite drink, sit back and enjoy.
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
