_I like horror, I like anthologies... but I don't like this show._ So this show wrote "diversity" on it's blurp thus forcing me to touch upon that. This translates into either female directed and written episodes or otherwise black/hispanic/asian guys. Similar things applies to the cast... And thereby makes a strong case against the diversity hire (note: this is not me saying skin color or ethnicity is an indication either way but this project certainly seems to be based around this). Anyways; I know none of this "viral" fiction they are based on but they are pretty much irrelevant since what do you _even_ make of two sentences (typically connecting a statement to something eerie/bad)... Petty really is that most of these do not work well with the 20 minute episode format. I often got the feeling that they're trying to imitate horror films they've seen but just have no clue what made them work. Budget is low with often unfitting music, lots of weird edits and acting all over the place. The cap on the length also means bland stories and very few surprises. I'd say two of them are passing at best, while others like "Little Monster" are so horrifically bad that they turn into comedy. Not recommended...
There's nothing "horror" or even creepy about this show. Just 20 minutes of bad acting. Also after watching an episode where a black girl gets revenge on a white man she thinks raped her, another about an undocumented immigrant babysitter who stops a home invasion by two white women, another about an Asian single mom who kills the white man that tries to rape her, and another that introduces the main character flirting with his black boyfriend, I began to notice a pattern. I'm a bit hesitant to touch on the diversity angle since mentioning it seems to automatically make people assume I'm an angry white male internet troll who can't handle seeing people of other races. I have nothing against diversity in film, and if you want a great recent example of diversity done right, check out the murder mystery/teen drama Elite which I give a 10/10 to for both its story and diversity representation. But in this case it seemed like the focus on that took away from the writing and acting as nearly every story falls miles short of being anything worth watching.
Isn’t it great when your favorite TV show has characters from all over the world? A lovely Spanish or a funny Indian accent can always make a show interesting but cultural presentation is what brings awe to the viewers life. I am presenting you with the three best TV shows that will add colors to your to-watch list!
While we celebrated the Pride month just now, why not talk about some awesome TV shows focused on LGBT characters. What if you want to learn about the people at large but you realize that there is no diversity in your close social circles. That’s when a good TV series can enlighten you with the ideas and realities. It can also save you from awkward moments in the real life by providing the right insights.
In times like this, when we’re all trying to stay safe and stay home as much as possible, it is very important to enjoy ourselves and feel relaxed while doing so. Thankfully, we have Netflix to help us out in our quest, but with so many series to choose from, you might spend hours browsing and still not being able to decide! That’s why I made this list to help you out.
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
