Seth MacFarlane is definitely one of the most creative minds in the world of animated sitcoms. When I first started watching Family Guy, I was shocked and sensed confusion, yet, I liked it. So, I am definitely a big fan of MacFalarne’s second big sitcom hit American Dad. He definitely aced it and rubbed it in the face of doubters, because initially Family Guy was supposed to be scrapped to make space for American Dad, however, both shows are running, Seth is juggling both shows, and there are no signs of setbacks.
American Dad is an animated series for adults, it rotates around a family headed by a conservative eccentric father who works as a CIA agent, his immediate family is even more eccentric or rather silly in a super fun way. An additional 3 squatters of sorts also share the family house.
The absurd and hilarious nonstandard upper-middle-class American Dad family the Smiths consists of 4 members, Stan the conservative father; Francine the housewife; Hayley the leftist, hippie daughter; and Steve the rather dorky son, they live in the fictional community of Langley Falls, Virginia, along with their 3 housemates that consist of Klaus, a deceiving nefarious Goldfish that has a German athlete’s brain; Roger, the selfish, master of disguise, a treacherous Alien; and Hayley’s boyfriend “current husband” Jeff Fischer who is always stoned. They are all wacky in the funniest way you can imagine, most of the events and interactions in their lives are a series of random hilarious oddities suitable only for adults.
The cast that plays the theatrically shady characters in American Dad is an interesting head-scratching mixture of personalities. Seth MacFarlane voices Stan Smith the father and Roger the alien too, he is also the creator of the show. Wendy Schaal voices Francine Smith the mother, Rachael MacFarlane voices Hayley Smith the daughter, and as you guessed it, she is Seth’s MacFarlan sister. Scott Grimes voices Steve Smith the son. Dee Bradley Baker voices Klaus Heisler the evil talking Gestapo-minded goldfish. Jeff Fischer voices Jeff Fischer, Hayley's boyfriend (then-husband), yep there was no need to change his name for the show, he is always baked in real life too. Patrick Stewart voices Deputy Director of the CIA Avery Bullock, Stan's boss.
I first thought that Seth MAcFalarne was inspired by his earlier creation Family Guy when he envisioned American Dad, but as it turns out, he and his friend and co-creator of American Dad Matt Weitzman invented the concept for the show out of frustration with the Bush administration. The series first premiered on Fox on February 6, 2005, and since then it has been smooth sailing. More than 340 episodes aired so far and more are coming. In 2014 the show moved to TBS and as per viewers, it got funnier, which I find true. I believe that these improvements can be attributed to the addition of a more intriguing background and new support characters, additionally, some of the episodes became more about other characters outside the Smiths family.
The Smiths' big two-story home on Cherry street might seem like a normal home, but every now and then a secret room, facility, or something even crazier is revealed as part of it.
American Dad is very unique and different from other shows such as Family Guy where you will see plenty of cutaway gags and setup punchlines. The humor in American Dad is a result of its quirky and shady characters and the relationships between them. It is a farce, as fictional as it can get but with so much real-life stuff the audience can relate to. In a nutshell, it uses deliberate in-your-face nonsense mockery of real-life situations. It is simply a joy to watch, it will definitely straighten out your mood.

actually American dad is my third best animated series after futurama and the simspsons.
I thought this was going to be a background noise watching. Just let it run and whatever. But no, this is surprisingly funny. Virtually every single episode makes me laugh out loud...
Trakt gets it's episode information from TVDB and there it's according to FOX (http://www.fox.com/americandad/recaps/season-9/episode-19) and not the scene naming. You would have to name them like this: http://thexem.de/xem/show/93.
Mom!!! The MEATLOAF!!! We want it NOW!!!
Good morning USA indeed. Roger makes me laugh still every time i watch this show.
I enjoy this much more than Family Guy, there seems to be more legitimate depth to the characters and of course Roger is amazing. Though this isn't a show where I can watch the episodes over and over like Futurama it is still a decent show to put on when you don't feel like thinking
Early on this show feels like another version of Family Guy. It quickly comes into its own. I think the characters are a lot funnier than the Family Guy counterparts. Roger is one of the best characters on television.
Season 11 needs to be updated
Some episodes are good but sometimes it just feels it lacking something or its just me saying that. Klaus is probably my favorite character.
**TBS Lord and Savior**
thank you
This show should end, its becoming really hard to Watch
I can't say I have watched all those series (at least not yet...).
But I have compiled the best episodes for each of them.
Watching royalty can sometimes make us feel like we are a part of royalty, but it also shows that being a leader usually isn’t as easy as it could seem. So, if you want to experience a lot of unpredictable drama with stunning scenery, clothes and visuals in general, these may be a few good choices for you:
Like I mentioned before, during these times, you have to be able to relax and is there a better way than sitting back and binging on a really good series? I don’t think so! We’ve already covered some series that are available on Netflix, but what about other services? Well, now we’re going to see what Hulu has to offer.
Lately, I’ve been re-watching a lot of tv shows I used to watch growing up. Even though it makes perfect sense, I was really surprised how different was my point of view now, than it was ten or fifteen years ago. Suddenly, my favorite characters aren’t the favorites anymore. Besides, I’ve forgotten tons of what was happening, that’s why I had so much fun re-watching everything. I highly suggest you do the same thing!
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
