I thoroughly enjoyed this show. It starts off comedic but gets more chilling after the first couple of episodes. I think even then it was comedic, just not the type of comedy that makes one laugh.
I have mixed feelings about this show. I cannot say if this is a comedy or a drama or what. Is quite strange. I like it, but is not something I would recommend to watch to most people.
Unexpectedly interesting, funny and desperate miniseries. Ghe ine thing I loved it most was the movie. Good choice.
Took a while to get into it but thoroughly enjoyed it. Classic anti-war film.
A (very) dark/black comedy about war and the deterministic and powerless situations soldiers can find themselves in, doing (arguably) useless things. Even as a viewer your hopes for a win will get thwarted every time. Even though this all does not sound like good entertainment, it somehow proofs to be the opposite. To find the humor in the world this mini-series creates, proofs the acting and writing skills involved with this show are not just average, nor an afterthought. It (at least) tries to depict a (semi-)realistic world, and does not venture into intentional offensive comedy just for a shock effect. I would not recommend to everyone, but it is definitely worth the watch if you are ok with a less than regular style of comedy and can enjoy or dealt with a (largely) lack of positivity in a story.
I quite enjoyed the absurdity
I was curious about some of the actors in this mini series, so of course I'm off to IMDB where I found that this was based off of a award winning anti war book and that this wasn't the first adaption of that book. They made a movie in 1970 which, at first look, looks more of a comedy. I added to my watch list just to compare. I also found it interesting that Clooney's former father in law played a major role in the first adaption. Coincidence he produced this mini series, I think not.
lol...it's mocking something, someone...
Don’t know about you, but since the lockdown, I have had more free time than ever. Maybe it’s because we did not actually realize how much time we were wasting. So the other day, whilst I was pouring myself a glass of wine, I remembered how much I love and missed genre “Fantasy”. It was my favorite genre since growing up, maybe because I was too much into Avatar, but yeah I miss it. So today let’s talk about best fantasy TV shows.
Like I mentioned before, during these times, you have to be able to relax and is there a better way than sitting back and binging on a really good series? I don’t think so! We’ve already covered some series that are available on Netflix, but what about other services? Well, now we’re going to see what Hulu has to offer.
Because I’m watching so many imaginary scenarios, it’s nice to take a look at things that actually happened every once in a while. The drama from documentaries really feels a lot different than those from series you just know didn’t happen. I love being aware of everything that is or has been going on and Netflix is really great at helping us with that.
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
