Boring and lifeless. Is that stupid fake accent supposed to be German? Have they heard a German person speaking English??? Shonda Rhimes... producing garbage and brainwashing gullible white people sice, Grey's Anatomy.

those Trump comments were just pitiful...

The only reason I'm watching this is because of Julia Garner. She is already in that realm where I'll watch anything she's in because I know she'll be amazing. But other than her this show seems rather boring one episode in.

Hot Trashy goodness based on a true famous story from Shondaland. Not sure why the score on this isn't higher cuz talk about no brainer bingey goodness!!!

The actors really had me involved in this story! I liked how they put it together and the flashback style they used. The progression through each episode was smooth and captivating. It took too long to get to the friends parts though. In the early episodes I kept thinking, 'when are we going to see her girl squad that they referenced early on?' The German accent was awful. It had me grinding my teeth in annoyance at times, but I usually found a way to get past it because I was invested in the story. Even found myself fact checking some bits to compare it to what really happened out of curiosity. Wonder what she's going to do now....keep trying to live a life of luxury or start with something new?

They should have just stuck with making a normal documentary. Waste of time for the acting apart from getting to know the story.

avatar

Sooooo tired of hearing about her!!

The first two episodes are slow and rather boring. But if you stick to it till EP03, i'm sure most people will love this show. Can't believe this is a true story!

An honest review... On the scale I rate this an 8, and I don't do that much. This wasn't a documentary, it was fictional retelling of a story which happened recently that to a lot of people who followed it, seems unrealistic. The goal of this limited series is reached l, it tells the main aspects of the story, while at the same time using dramatic license to make it more enjoyable. The cinematography is well done, the acting is decent, and the writing (despite a couple of political jokes that clearly weren't necessary) was great. My one and only complaint about Inventing Anna is the obvious jabs and mentions of social issues that weren't necessary because they added nothing to the story, at all. Which, as you can see from other reviews, is an instant turnoff for a lot of people and distracts from the story.

These were all such horrible people.

Somehow Anna's accent was maybe the 5th most annoying thing about this show after the reporter Vivian, Deff's accent/speech pattern, Vivian's co-workers, and Anna's lawyer. Really bad. This should have been done as a 3 part documentary series.

[Netflix] The series uses more than 10 hours to not invent anything. Anna Delvey is as mysterious at the end as at the beginning, due to the determination of the writers (and a journalist with, at least, dubious ethics) in blaming everyone for being scammed. Compared to Anna Chlumsky's indigestible grimaces, Julia Garner is outstanding in that mixture of arrogance and fragility that she brings to the character.

Interesting show, well acted and well paced but I didn't like how Rachel was painted. No matter how much she used the story afterward to make money, she was still a victim. I felt like they were too nice toward Anna too. I get it, she's definitely interesting and someone from a low social class scamming rich people is a story a lot of us can get behind. But she also completely mistreated real people, who genuinely suffered from that. She's not some kind of Robin Hood

Ok I get it.. a Russian doing a German accent in English. But it's just sooooo terrible and annoying that I'd give her money to just shut the hell up.

The show is not impartial nor objective, and is full of political shit. The message it sends is in favor of the scammer (a victim of the capitalist world). If you can put aside all that, is entertaining.

About Me

I am Sophie and this is my website.

A little about me ๐Ÿ‘‹ I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.

But more than anything else, I love watching (.. bingingโ€ฆ) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter ๐Ÿ™ˆ

I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I donโ€™t feel like watching it all over againโ€ฆ

I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.

Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
