I disagree about the series going nowhere because it is a crime drama. I believe it develops slowly through the episodes and, by the end of the season, you'll realize its plot has gone very far. Each season ends in a very turbulent place and the next one starts with the emotional consequences of the previous. Character growth is brilliant.
How on earth could they kill off Alice? I find this inexcusable; the relationship between Luther and Morgan is one if the most interesting and compelling aspects of the show (series? I never know with these Brits.). If the reason for her leaving Luther is her role in The Affair, this is a tragic exchange. The word "shaft" comes to mind.
Interesting, the relationship with Alice.
Definitely, one of the best crime thrillers ever conceived and written! You will be seduced by it's clever, dark writing and the spectacular performances of Idris Elba and Ruth Wilson (with an excellent supporting cast - too many stand-out performances to name). This is Neil Cross' masterpiece, from creation to seasonal arcs to individual stories to episodic writing, each piece building toward the series' inevitable reckoning, teasing us on with the end of season's tag line, "Now what?" while the soulful plea "I'm just a soul who's intentions are good..." plays, while credits roll. A beautiful study of genius, license vs. boundaries, and the ultimate consequences of each. I give this series a 10 (brilliant) out of 10. [Crime Thriller]
This grimdark crime drama really gets to me. Every second we see the unstable John Luther, the uncertain Alice Morgan, or one of the many unpleasant antagonists It's incredibly suspenseful and almost spellbinding. Carried by Idris Elba, the beautiful cinematography, and of course Neil Cross' genius writing; Luther is an abrasive look into the fine line between right and wrong.
The A..between the L and the R. aim low
I had rather high expectations for this but I struggled through it from ep.1. Gave up after ep.5 in season one. The scripts all have logic errors where you simply have to turn a blind eye for it to work. This is most of the time painted over by slow-mo shots and very emotional music that covers those errors.
The whole thing with Alice is completely rubbish. In the first episode Luther wants nothing but to arrest her for the murder of her parents. Not long after that they enter a weird kind of friendship, he even asks her for help despite telling her over and over again to leave him alone. And, of course, Alice all of a sudden falls in love with him. Pretty far fetched.
I get it, it's all supposed to be entertainment. But that is just it, I wasn't entertained.
Trailer for the new episodes airing later this month.... https://arstechnica.com/?p=1420075 Interesting person spotted right at the end.......
the way Idris Elba portrays the role of Luther I'm just mesmerized that how damn good actor he is. don't miss it, it doesn't have many episodes per seasons but they're so good you'll be addicted.
While we celebrated the Pride month just now, why not talk about some awesome TV shows focused on LGBT characters. What if you want to learn about the people at large but you realize that there is no diversity in your close social circles. That’s when a good TV series can enlighten you with the ideas and realities. It can also save you from awkward moments in the real life by providing the right insights.
In times like this, when we’re all trying to stay safe and stay home as much as possible, it is very important to enjoy ourselves and feel relaxed while doing so. Thankfully, we have Netflix to help us out in our quest, but with so many series to choose from, you might spend hours browsing and still not being able to decide! That’s why I made this list to help you out.
Like I mentioned before, during these times, you have to be able to relax and is there a better way than sitting back and binging on a really good series? I don’t think so! We’ve already covered some series that are available on Netflix, but what about other services? Well, now we’re going to see what Hulu has to offer.
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
