"Steve Buscemi is God" declared the trailer, and sold I was.
Good show. It had an interesting concept, one I've never seen anything similar to. The comedy was pretty decent but nothing I'd consider really, really funny. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way. I'd still say you should at least give the show a shot. For most of you, you'll probably consider it absolutely horrible or not your cup of tea, which is completely fine. That's what I think. Edit, upon watching and finishing the second season: The first season was a nice introduction to the show, but the second season is where it's at. There was more of a budget, though, to be fair, would a show like this need a bigger budget to be better? I don't think that's specifically the case, but the bigger budget did play a part in the greater overall enjoyment in comparison to the first season. It felt like there was more of a story, which contributed to the level of enjoyment as well. I don't know, it just felt better. I'm not very good at writing something out in regards to a show in some cases, and this is one of them, so that's all that comes to mind, so to speak, and came of letting my fingers do their thing rather than thinking of what to write, word by word.
I really enjoyed season one. The idea that God was going to destroy the Earth and that these people that worked for God were trying to save it was interesting. The ways that they went about trying to create the event that would save the Earth was entertaining. season 2 is confusing. after successfully saving the Earth from destruction they are suddenly all in the dark ages. But they're not the heavenly deities that they were in season 1. they just seem to be people that are living in the dark ages. why wouldn't they have done something to the effect of after saving the Earth God says he wants to have more of a fresh start. then bring everyone back to the dark ages. to try and create a better future. But instead of doing it from heaven where they look at monitors and try to direct people. God tells them that they need to be directing the people they're trying to save face to face. this could have made for more of a season 1 similar situation.
This show is like DarkMatter2525 meets The Good Place. If you like both, you should find some enjoyment in this show. The main female character is rather generic and overall uninteresting, but the other characters make up for it. This is also the kind of show where it is obvious from the beginning that some sort of romance will be forced between the main male and female characters, but you desperately hope the show doesn't go through with it because those characters have ZERO chemistry (like, even less chemistry than Chidi and Elanor in The Good Place). The first season is short (7 episodes, 30 minutes each), which prevents it from dragging on or being stuffed with filler. Perhaps the best part of this show for me is the unintended consequences on Earth following each action taken in Heaven. That poor journalist became my favorite trope in the show, and I hope he can make a return for season 2. All in all, pretty all right show. Easy to binge watch. Bit too predictable and not *quite* as original as I would have liked, but it has certainly earned its place among the numerous religion-based dramas appearing these days. 7/10 from me... **Signed:** _~SophieFilo16~_
It was easily more believable than the Bible or any of those other mankind controlling how-to manuals. The concept that Earth is the brainchild of a less than brilliant god who is the "special" child in a family of very successful gods in the Universe, makes perfect sense if you look at the insanity that is this planet. There was just the right mix of humor and suspense. I will watch season two.
Pretty basic. If you have nothing better to watch, it will fill some time and you might chuckle if you're not particularly demanding in your humor.
I have no idea what's going on with the second season, it's completely unrelated to the first and unexplained. But It was also a big surprise and honestly I enjoyed it much more than the first season! Definitely recommend giving it a watch for some light entertainment.
The second season is so much better than the atrocious first one. I'm glad I gave it a chance.
Really good, short show. Short enough to keep your attention. And the humor is less to the haha side and more to the ironic side so it may not be for everyone. Still good for a quick laugh. I'm trying really hard to see how season 2 relates to season one. the content is going in a totally different direction and I can't find a reason why. Still enjoying it though.
I thought season one was good, but not great. It's a cool concept for a TV show, but I felt like they didn't quite deliver its potential. I'm excited to see what they've done with the second season though, and i'm hoping they've fleshed it out a bit more.
Like I mentioned before, during these times, you have to be able to relax and is there a better way than sitting back and binging on a really good series? I don’t think so! We’ve already covered some series that are available on Netflix, but what about other services? Well, now we’re going to see what Hulu has to offer.
As much shame and guilt as I feel while watching these reality series, I can never get enough of them. It’s never fun having your own drama, but when it’s blown out of proportion and has nothing to do with you, suddenly it’s something a lot of people want to watch. We’re always looking forward to the next episode and simply can’t wait to see more of it.
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
