Scarlet Heart: Ryeo

Scarlet Heart: Ryeo

SBS 2016

Hae Soo is a 21st century woman who gets caught in a solar eclipse and is transported to the Goryeo Dynasty, which ruled Korea from the 10th century for nearly 500 years. Suddenly, Hae Soo finds herself in the royal palace, where she comes across Fourth Prince Wang So. A man as feared as he is handsome, Wang So is based on the real-life fourth king of the Goryeo Dynasty and makes others tremble but wins over Hae Soo’s heart. However, he is not the only one in the palace with eyes on the throne, and a political battle of deception, secrecy and lies ensues between Wang So and all the other princes. Adding to the drama are Eighth Prince Wang Wook, who is less than willing to wait in line behind seven other members of the royal family, and Third Prince Wang Yo, whose right to the crown actually precedes Wang So’s.

It was an okay ride, but I expected more. Seeing as it is an adaption of the chinese series with the same name. In comparison, this version lacks substance, character development and reason for things which occur throughout the series. Lee Joon Gi, IU and Kang Ha Neul did a great job, but the rest were kind of lackluster. I can't really fathom why so many praise this adaption other than the pretty faces.

Very cool. Both male and female lead are very good actors. I was very captivated and cheered for them. I wished that there was more for the ending.. but it was still a great journey throughout these weeks :) Thank you Moon Lovers Team!

Loved the story, hated the ending, and despised the way they kept skipping like ( 2 years later, then suddenly 5 years later and such). I cried 99% of this drama and wished that Lee Joon Gi would finally find peace and have the happy ending he deserved. I wish all the sadness and agony that occurred in this drama never did. I was hoping everyone would not get the ending they did and that they'd get a different ending but what happened happened. The ending scene was terrible I wished it would have ended differently or at least gotten a sequel which would be more cheerful than what we got in this one.

One of the best dramas you'll ever watch. Every episode is perfect from beginning to end. Fair warning: there will be tears.

Is it too optimistic to wish for a second season? I believe it would be worth watching ... although much of the plot here was a bit carelessly put together with things happening out of the blue for no reason whatsoever and rarely actually explained, I was really invested in every single character's story even though there were so many. Not to mention the unbelievably awesome acting skills displayed by Lee Junk Ki and Kang Ha-Neul! #Hwaiting

About Me

I am Sophie and this is my website.

A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.

But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈

I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…

I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.

Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
