[HBO] The difference between this vision of that deep foray into relationships that Ingmar Bergman built is that it is a work anchored to 2020 (including references to COVID-19). While the original version still maintains a timelessness that is captivating. Hagai Levi's is more explicit, and therefore less suggestive, more emotional and therefore more fragile. It is overshadowed by the grandeur of the original work.
Okay, so some people are arguing that this is not on the same level as the original. Just as cover versions of songs are no way near as great as the original, most of the times. But you can't take away from the fact that this mini-series has some _fantastic_ acting. Especially Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain. They are absolutely superb! I also loved the "behind the scenes" footage at the beginning of each episode. Thought that was a really clever and interesting concept. I have to check out Bergman's work, after watching this.
Watch the original instead. Hagai Levi, don't let me know where you live or else I'll visit your house and shove a Death's scythe up your ass for offending the name of Ingmar Bergman.
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
