The sound effects are eerie and scary. The camera work is excellent. The performance is pure. The show really works for me.
[Initial Impression] In this opening salvo for Apple TV+, M. Night Shyamalan gives us a slow reveal on a bizarre situation. Immediately, we discover the foibles of this couple making them not very likeable. I found the obscured camera angles, that I assume were done so to tell their own stories, to be distracting rather than facilitating the story telling. The pace teeters between boring and suspense. And even the suspense lead to a predictable outcome, but the set up for what will happen next and what is the real mystery behind this Servant, promises an underlying greatness to this series. Let's see if it pays off. I give the opening episode an 8 (potentially great) out of 10. [Season One Verdict] That was disappointing. We put up with a lot, in hope of a season finale payoff: unlikeable characters, distracting camera angles, a preoccupation with culinary gore, all on the promise of unravelling the bizarre mystery. I think it is a crime to renew a series without fulfilling a seasonal arch. It was a waste of effort. No hidden depths here, just false teases. I won't be watching the second season and wish I hadn't watched the first. I give this series a 5 (disappointing) out of 10. [Mystery Thriller]
I don't know what to say. Through the whole series it keeps your interest and you to watch till the end. But at the end there no answer. Because of that I have mixed feelings about this show. Feels like author fools me because he wanted season 2. And who says that season 2 will be the last....
Quiet difficult to disagree with what people is saying here. I was very intrigued watching every single episode not quiet understanding what is actually going on. Sometimes it felt like a big joke but I finally got it. I think. Hoping fot another season.
Imagine watching a sporting event. It’s all exciting, edge of your seat action and suspense. Then with the game tied and 10 seconds to go, both teams dance around, wave goodbye and leave.... That was this show. It had me hooked in, anticipating what was happening next, then the last episode made absolutely no sense. What a total disappointment!
When will episode 11 be available?
I liked it. The general quality is very high. The atmosphere is quite dark but without pushing it to far. But the darkness is mixed up with a bit craziness and tons of humor, most of the humor is subtle though which is my favorite kind of humor. Great characters. The idea behind the story is intriguing and original. [spoiler]The story in itself feels unfinished, or open, I guess that depends on the viewer. To me it feels a bit too unfinished, not sure if they're planning on having an extension in the form of another season but I doubt it. It does feel unfinished but at the same time it feels like there's nothing more to add.[/spoiler] Overall good show, much better than the average.
Profane with unlikable characters and slow plot.
The story couldv'e been condensed to 1 hour instead of 5 hours, and I don't see the point in telling stories like this and then leaving our dear characters in a state of absolute darkness.
I’m absolutely loving this show, it’s very original and eerie! A strange subject matter, which is why it makes it scary and spooky. It’s phenomenally so well done by giving nothing away, twists and turns constantly which keeps you guessing. Everytime, I believe I’ve figured out what’s going on, something happens and leaves me scratching my head. I suppose it’s every parent’s nightmare, which is why it makes it’s unnerving and eerie. Such a brave move on subject matter and so very well done. It’s somehow simple, but complex. The cast are fantastic and really play their parts well, shrouded in darkness, mystery and terrifying in ways. You want to shout and say what on earth are you doing letting this person in your house! No one would be so stupid! But, by each episode you find out a little more and understand the complexity of their predicament. The episodes are shorter than usual shows and you’re concentrating so hard trying to figure out what’s truly going on, it’s over as it begun, or so it feels. I note a few comments don’t like the basic subject matter, but that’s the beauty of tv & films; it explores taboo subjects, and in a way educates you to those experiences sadly some have to go through. It delves deep in to the darkness of thoughts and emotions. Which in a way is educating, as everyone deals with things in their own way and it shouldn’t be shunned or swept under the carpet or even frowned upon. Anyway, this is a brilliant show that leads you down a dark path, that’s full of suspense and horror. Extremely original and currently one of my favourite shows. Waiting in anticipation for more....where will this story lead...is it supernatural, evil twisted people, or will it surprise us with none of the above and be the grief, clouding judgment and altering perception of all those involved, fuelling the situation in something easily explainable???
Isn’t it great when your favorite TV show has characters from all over the world? A lovely Spanish or a funny Indian accent can always make a show interesting but cultural presentation is what brings awe to the viewers life. I am presenting you with the three best TV shows that will add colors to your to-watch list!
Because I’m watching so many imaginary scenarios, it’s nice to take a look at things that actually happened every once in a while. The drama from documentaries really feels a lot different than those from series you just know didn’t happen. I love being aware of everything that is or has been going on and Netflix is really great at helping us with that.
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
