I feel like this a low rent Nashville that makes black people look terrible. The music is mediocre, the story generally lazy and hacky. It's like a show that were it given the attention of an HBO or Showtime might make you feel immersed in, but you're left with seeing how much Terrance Howard and Taraji can carry the series. (edit: Nov 2016 I recently finished watching Power which is a glimpse at what Empire might've been like on a different network) Extra points for making me hate Cookie so much, that's powerful acting or character development. The relationships are soap opera like, the writing fairly blah and redundant. What could be compelling story lines are wrapped up quickly or ignored all together. It feels like the show can't pick a direction. I don't understand why it's so hyped, it certainly can't be from the song quality, and the superficial glance at the scatter-brained roles each character is supposed to play doesn't endear me to any character in particular. There's way too much TV to compare this to for this to stick out for any other reason than Black-ish does. It caricatures black people and requires zero effort to follow. (Black-ish has laid off the accelerator...a bit)
Very enjoyable. While I wouldn't buy any of the music, it's worked into the story well. Not exactly deep, but when trash is done well, it's fun to watch :-)
BEST. DRAMA. ON. TV. watch!
To be honest, the show has way too many gay scenes for me to continue to watch. No, I'm not a homophobe. I just don't want to see that in every single episode.
This show does JUST enough to keep me watching from week to week. They keep adding new big names (Chris Rock was a Cannibal who killed many people?!?!) to draw a big crowd, and credit to them, that has worked rather well. The show is way over-hyped. The plot is great, and the story could be deep and powerful if the writers would have taken it in a different direction. As it is, I'm not sure they have a solid grasp on the direction. My other big problem with the show is how they make it into a trashy, modern day soap-opera. You cannot watch an episode without feeling like it cut to Young and the Restless from the music at key points in the episodes. The way they add the music to scenes is completely cheesy and gives it the feel of an early 90's show. Similar to when fox added those laugh tracks to the short lived Red and Meth show. It really makes you feel like it was produced by amateurs that are looking for a big break. So, why do I still watch it? Well, the first season, I thought the music was great in the first half. Watching it on a surround sound gave it some nice bump, and I really saw the potential. I was into the controversy with the gay son and power struggle between the brothers. But the production of the show JUST KILLS IT. Toward the end of the first season, they show a murder that looks like me and a buddy recorded it with our cell phone in the back yard. I was literally laughing. That's when they lost me, but by that point I had all the characters down and kept thinking they would take it in a better direction. Boy....was I wrong!
Lost interest this season - I'm done.
Drops out of Ironman 2 due to money reasons. Stars in low budget TV show... You sure showed them...
One of the worst things to ever exist and that is fact!
it was pretty good. but now the storyline is just getting ridiculous
This show started with promise! Great Cast, Great Music, but unfortunately the plot seem to have no defined route, and as such has gotten lost such a shame, good, no Great idea but !!!!!!!!!
Love, Victor happens at the exact same place as the movie Love, Simon, only a few years later. Even though I really enjoyed watching Simon on the big screen, watching Victor felt a bit more real and that’s very important. With his deeply religious and conservative family, Victor struggles to come out to them. Beside the fact that this show is very enjoyable to watch, it’s also so important for everyone to see the whole point: you should truly, unapologetically be who you are.
The only thing better than drama is drama with some spectacular music. Empire is a series about a music industry and there’s always a whole lot going on. With everyone always being at each other’s throat to see who’s going to be the next king of the empire, you’ll be stuck watching episode after episode, without even realizing it. In addition, the music is so good that you will want to download at least a few songs afterwards.
Get the inside view into Brooklyn’s police department and everything that happens besides catching the bad guys. The witty humor and the never-ending action are only some of the reasons to keep on watching. The characters are all so incredible, so picking a favorite is an impossible task. It’s also very exciting to see all the developing romance.
Don’t know about you, but since the lockdown, I have had more free time than ever. Maybe it’s because we did not actually realize how much time we were wasting. So the other day, whilst I was pouring myself a glass of wine, I remembered how much I love and missed genre “Fantasy”. It was my favorite genre since growing up, maybe because I was too much into Avatar, but yeah I miss it. So today let’s talk about best fantasy TV shows.
Like I mentioned before, during these times, you have to be able to relax and is there a better way than sitting back and binging on a really good series? I don’t think so! We’ve already covered some series that are available on Netflix, but what about other services? Well, now we’re going to see what Hulu has to offer.
Lately, I’ve been re-watching a lot of tv shows I used to watch growing up. Even though it makes perfect sense, I was really surprised how different was my point of view now, than it was ten or fifteen years ago. Suddenly, my favorite characters aren’t the favorites anymore. Besides, I’ve forgotten tons of what was happening, that’s why I had so much fun re-watching everything. I highly suggest you do the same thing!
As much shame and guilt as I feel while watching these reality series, I can never get enough of them. It’s never fun having your own drama, but when it’s blown out of proportion and has nothing to do with you, suddenly it’s something a lot of people want to watch. We’re always looking forward to the next episode and simply can’t wait to see more of it.
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
