People are saying bad things about this show but none of that really resonated with what I saw, so I'm writing my thoughts about it to balance things out. Personally, I loved it. This is the last to come out of the entity once known as Marvel Television, from which the Netflix's The Defenders shows also came from. This show bears some similarities to the aforementioned in that they are slow-burners with more character, story development blended well with darker, gory details. (And the usual, but subtle, dose of humour and sarcasm is just **chef's kiss**) One more thought: you don't dive straight into television and complain about feelings and emotions. They are a part of what makes television _television_. Just look at any Marvel Television show, non-Marvel superhero shows or even most drama series that aren't about superheros at all. This is clearly a TV show about a _family_, **_the Helstrom family_**, so what did you expect? A family that acts like they are strangers and only cares about exorcising the _hell_ out of each other? If you are _that_ into action, _just_ watching the MCU blockbuster movies instead isn't a bad idea. I mean, they clearly have bigger budgets specifically for that department. (Even those have emotional sequences, and viewers seem to enjoy it, so...) Though it's highly unlikely because of Disney and Marvel's new focus on shows featuring the MCU movie stars, I'll be crossing my fingers for more. Hopefully, they will get enough momentum to continue this story.

The show has so much potential but it's wasted by poor story telling. This would've worked better as a 2hr movie or 6 episode show. Unfortunately, you'll have to sit through 10 hours of torture as the characters constantly talk about their feelings while boring you to death. You'll literally feel ever minute of the 10 hours tick by. And oh yea there's a random gay couple that makes no sense to the story but you know it's 2020 so you need the token in the show. I would say if you have 10 hours to kill, nothing better to do, and want to listen to characters constantly talk about their feelings, this is the show for you. If you don't like all that stuff or don't want to waste 10 hours, I would skip this show. I wish I had watched this show in 2x or 2.5x speed...I think I would've liked it better.

This show started well with good performances and a sensible balance between plot progress and character development. Supernatural franchises with adult themes are difficult to find so it was refreshing to see the attempt. That said, they are difficult for a reason and that is that the subject matter tends toward an immature brand of fantastical fiction. The show held its own until episode 8 and then reverted to form. I don't want to spoil in any way so I will just say if you were anticipating something other than the usual supernatural trope you will be disappointed.

A mashup of other franchises that results in boring.

Bing watched in one day, ending was not that great for me but I will give season 2 a shot though.

I gave up after two episodes. It looked really promising. The first episode is shaky, but they often are... there's a lot to introduce. Things get worrying when the gratuitous progressive inserts start - even in the first episode. "man-splaining"... really. Seriously get some better writers.

About Me

I am Sophie and this is my website.

A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.

But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈

I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…

I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.

Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
