How this has become a discussion about two very different shows, I can't possibly understand. (Seriously, TRUE BLOOD and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES? It's like comparing HOUSE, MD and GREY'S ANATOMY.) I started watching this show when I was most definitely a part of the target audience, and despite my initial fear of this show being a TWILIGHT rip-off (despite the fact that the books had been written before, which yes, would make it a "Follow the leader"; mainly because Book!verse differs vastly from TV!verse), its flaws are entirely different. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES has a protagonist-centered morality, that, when it comes down to it, isn't caused by Elena Gilbert's gentle or loveable personality (of which's existence, by now, only the Salvatores seem to be entirely certain), but the fact that she's got the special kind of boobs. Her magic hooha is infamous among fans of PNR and UF, the hypocrisy of the characters one of the most fandom-intern-critizised points of the entire show. Despite that, we still watch it, and once you've come to the point where you hate a show with a passion, yet can't wait for the next episode, you do wonder why that is. (Or at least I do.) The heteronormativity, the lack of POCs, the annoying protagonist and love-triangle, the melodrama, the patheticly obvious loop-holes and inconsistencies. Even the beautiful and rather talented actors and actresses (and amazing music (and yes, to be fair, the few very well-written and often well-directed episodes) shouldn't be able to make up for it, right? But in the end, the show is what the HOUSE OF NIGHT series is in the PNR bookworld. It might suck, it might be immature, sex-negative, and downright awful at times, but it's also compelling. I can't help but react to the insanities that ensue, and even though it probably isn't what the writers and creatores intended, my hatred for certain characters and the misery I feel everytime they mess an magnificent concept up beyond repair, are what keeps me coming back. In other words, if you are looking for a well-written, sex-positive, 21st century TV-show whose writers you can trust, look somewhere else. If you want a guilty pleasure "Jesus, why do they all look so good, and wth, how is this his voice?"-experience, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES should definitely do. (Then again, shows like LOST GIRL, TEEN WOLF, and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER are, at this point, easier to recommend with a clean conscience.) (That isn't to say the show isn't enjoyable. Especially if you are less involved, are able to be entertained by shows despite their influence on particular people, or don't question the characters' and writers' decisions, it should be a show you might come to like.)
i used to be good. season 7 have to be the final season.
Why does it say that language is Polish? It's English, fix it.
Despite its evident flaws, I'll always have a soft spot for The Vampire Diaries: it was the first Tv series I started following, the first I fell in love with which also led to my first binge and of course my initiation to "shipping my OTPs" ... it's a lot to live up to I guess!! So I don't really care about the inconsistencies, the obvious hypocrisy, or how annoying some characters were, taking turns throughout the seasons. That's all true but I decided I want to remember how much I got swept up by the various storylines they told in eight years, how much I cried during emotional episodes ( guys when
Liz Forbes
died I thought I'd never stop, I can't listen to that song without weeping ), how insanely hot and definitely talented the cast was and how taken I've been from the beginning to the end no matter what ... this show deserves all my praise!!
People still watch this show??? I stopped at season 3!
This was the first TV show that I started watching. I was 14, obsessed with Twilight (don't judge) and wanted mooooore vampires. In the beginning it was good. I became older and decided to stay loyal to my first TV show and finish it, despite not liking it anymore. I was so glad when I heard season 8 was the last one. Why? Because it's the same thing over and over and over again. Killing some humans, oh oops, major characters die. Let's bring them back from the dead! Aaaaand they're dead again. Luckily we have another spell to bring them back! Seriously? I can't keep track of how many times some characters have died and were brought back! And after
Elena became the sleeping beauty
, I thought the show would get better, since that was the most dreadful character. I was wrong. It got even worse.
Just like before, it was still all revolving around Elena. I mean come on, the chick isn't going to wake until that Bonnie dies so can you just go 5 minutes without mentioning her? Please?
It should have ended right there, with season 6. It appeared that even the original cast grew tired of this show as a lot of the original cast had themselves written out and were replaced by new, insignificant characters and with that, a new, insignificant plot. Says a lot about this show too... If even the actors are done with it, then you really know it became a bad show. The vampire diaries? More like the boring diaries.
Stopped watching after the 5th season. The first few seasons were amazing, but I lost interest by the 4th.
**on July 23, 2016, announced that the eighth season, which would have 16 episodes, would be the show's last.**
I don't want it to end. I want to see the life everyone is having. I'm crying because I don't want it to be over!!!
the spin-off series 'The Originals' is waay better than this guys
So these are my favorite fantasy TV shows, choose one to watch and have fun.
Don’t forget to come back in a couple of days for some fresh articles!
Isn’t it great when your favorite TV show has characters from all over the world? A lovely Spanish or a funny Indian accent can always make a show interesting but cultural presentation is what brings awe to the viewers life. I am presenting you with the three best TV shows that will add colors to your to-watch list!
Don’t know about you, but since the lockdown, I have had more free time than ever. Maybe it’s because we did not actually realize how much time we were wasting. So the other day, whilst I was pouring myself a glass of wine, I remembered how much I love and missed genre “Fantasy”. It was my favorite genre since growing up, maybe because I was too much into Avatar, but yeah I miss it. So today let’s talk about best fantasy TV shows.
Mixing reality shows and food seems like the perfect combination for just about anyone. I always get amazed what some people are able to make under a huge amount of pressure. The cooking shows are so entertaining as well, because it’s always regular people competing. Just make sure not to watch them on an empty stomach!
I am Sophie and this is my website.
A little about me 👋 I am a marketing student in Paris. I love spending afternoons with friends in a cafe or a park.
But more than anything else, I love watching (.. binging…) series on my computer on rainy Sundays or any sunny day for that matter 🙈
I must have watched hundreds of shows by now, from romance to science-fiction series. Often I like to go back to a show I enjoyed. But I don’t feel like watching it all over again…
I created this website so myself and others could find the best episodes of our favourite shows. As of today, I have about 1,000 shows on the website with votes and rating coming from fans.
Hopefully, you can join me from your sofa and enjoy some nice TV!
